Ugh, do any of you hate the rain as much as I do?  I mean that’s why I live here in quote-un-quote, “sunny”, Southern California.  Well, have no fear, rain or shine, you can be sure I’m still out and about, around town at the hottest parties and events.

Tonight, I’ll be at BRANDX’s “The First Event Worth Attending In 2010″ Business Networking mixer (sponsored by the Ganan Group), at 5950 West Jefferson Blvd. in LA.  You should totally head out and join me!  The fun starts at 8:30 PM!  There will be live music (Who can resist a man with musical talent?), your favorite S’muffins, and BONUS: hosted Grey Goose cocktails!

Speaking of Grey Goose, I’m sure you’ve been wondering what kind of cocktails to serve with S’muffins, right?  Well, here’s a great one that is sure to be a hit at your cocktail parties!  I whipped it up using ingredients that will give you that cozy, warm and fuzzy feeling on the inside, even if you’re freezing your booty off on the outside:

Tahitian Caffetini de Simone

Grey Goose La Vanille Maritni Cocktail Recipe

(Adapted from National Cocktails Examiner recipe, by Cheri Loughlin)

2 oz. Grey Goose La Vanille Vodka

1 1/2 oz. Espresso

1 1/2 oz. Brooke’s Simple Syrup (SEE BELOW)

Cinnamon (for garnish)

Cinnamon and Turbinado Sugar

Preliminary Prep:

1) My girlfriend, Brooke Burton, shared this great Simple Syrup recipe with me and you can find it on her blog, FoodWoolf.com.  Prepare Brooke’s Simple Syrup in advance and chill in the refrigerator until it is entirely cold.

2) Combine cinnamon and turbinado sugar to taste into a salt rimmer.

Mixing the cocktail:

Garnish the rim of your favorite martini or cocktail glass with the cinnamon and turbinado sugar mixture.  Using a Boston Shaker–these are great because you can layer the ingredients without having to use extra tools to measure–combine Grey Goose La Vanille Vodka, espresso and Brooke’s Simple Syrup into the measuring glass.  Add a bit of ice.  Cover the measuring glass with the stainless glass and, as OutKast would  put it, “shake it like a polaroid picture.”  Strain the yummy libation into your garnished glass.  Then use a bar spoon to spoon the foam from the Boston Shaker onto the top of the cocktail.  Add the finishing touch, by sprinkling the top with cinnamon!

Check out more cocktail recipes on Cheri Loughlin’s blog, The Intoxicologist.

And to put you in the mood, you should add the Elf movie soundtrack to your party playlist!  I just love Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel’s version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside”!

If you try it out, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below and, as always, we love to get your pics too; send them to: Simone@GottaHaveSmore.com.
